Emergent Waste Solutions Inc. (“EWS” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that BioWaste to Energy for Canada Integration Initiative (BECii) has selected EWS to become a Clean Energy member and its only member using pyrolysis technology to remediate waste materials.
BECii membership allows EWS to participate in the Clean Energy Center in Central Alberta, created and facilitated by BECii. As one of its select members, EWS will have the right to use the Clean Energy Center for construction of its first Canadian commercial facility. In addition, EWS will benefit from: access to world-class scientists, industry collaboration, office and lab facilities and advanced testing equipment.
Toward this end, the Company has created a detailed project plan for construction and operation of an APS500 plant, which will process waste rubber tires. The Company is currently evaluating several funding opportunities with potential Joint Venture partners.

Emergent Waste Solutions Inc. (“EWS” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that a feasibility study undertaken by the University of British Columbia (“UBC”) has been completed. The study, which was commissioned in February 2013, was completed end of June.
Study author, Tom Malcolm of the ISIS Research Centre at UBC, conducted an extensive cost-benefit analysis. Mr. Malcolm offered the following conclusion in his report: “This report has found there to be a compelling economic argument for adopting EWS’s APS technology to process a host of waste streams currently sent off campus.”
The report cites the following factors as being influential in directing the conclusions: economics, compliance with the City of Vancouver organics landfill ban, adherence to the UBC Campus as a Living Laboratory initiative, environmental impact and research possibilities for UBC.

Emergent Waste Solutions Inc. (“EWS” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that ABB Inc. (ABB) has provided a Statement of Interest to work with EWS in submitting proposals for utilizing the Advanced Pyrolysis System (APS©) technology to process waste Biomass in Canada.
ABB Business Development Manager Nicholas Masucci stated that, “ABB has an initiative and segment focus on the next generation OEM and End User Biomass to Fuel Plants…the APS technology is years ahead of any solution I have seen.” To date Mr. Masucci has lent direct support on three proposals advanced by EWS: the University of British Columbia, BECii (BioWaste to Energy an Integration Initiative) and Watson Island. Further, for the Watson Island project specifically, ABB has agreed to the use of its name and logo on the submission of the joint application for the RFEIQ, and possible subsequent proposals.
The letter of support Mr. Masucci issued to the University of British Columbia included the following statements:
A) This system is pressure neutral. This lends itself to a much safer operation than high pressure of high vacuum operation.
B) The system uses steam injection which more effectively permeates the biomass and helps keep the system from being shut down due to fouling.
C) This operation is not batch but a continuous process.
